This half term the children have been working hard in their PE lessons. In Y2 the children have been focusing on throwing objects at different targets. Y3 have been learning how to dribble and handle the basketballs keeping them close to their bodies and the Y5 children had the opportunity to finish their netball unit playing a match bringing all the skills they had developed together. Well done to you all!

This week 4 Khan started their new Maths topic, Area. They began by exploring the area of different shapes using post it notes. The children had to make sure the post its did not overlap, otherwise it was not an accurate method of measurement.
The children then drew shapes and identified how many square units were inside each shape. Look how beautifully the class recorded their work in their books!

Last week, 3 Modahl continued their learning of Stone Age tools and weapons. The children wanted to put their learning into practise, so they designed their own Stone Age tools.
They labelled and explained to their class mates what materials they had chosen and why. Well done 3M for being amazing historians!

This week, 3 Khan had a wonderful time at Manchester Museum as part of their Science learning this half term.
They enjoyed exploring the natural history and fossil zone exhibits. The children loved meeting Stan the T-Rex, who is approximately 65 million years old!

This week Year 6 looked at the ‘Welcome’ sculpture of Waqas Khan, the abstract sculptures of Katherine Trudzinski and the monochrome art of Charles McGee. They then took inspiration from these to create their own abstract sculptures using the word ‘Welcome’ in multiple languages. Aren’t they fantastic?!
