Year 4 Art and Design

In Art, 4 Wilkinson have been learning how to paint with everyday objects such as cotton buds and kebab skewers. The children replicated different artist’s aerial view paintings of the Roman fort in Manchester.

We love how vivid the colours are and the attention to detail in these paintings!

Year 6 Trip to Art Gallery

Two of our Year 6 classes had a great time meeting Athena at Manchester Art Gallery this week! They learned all about Greek mythology through art and drama, as part of their work about ancient civilisations. They also did some perspective drawing and some fantastic art work was produced. Our third Year 6 class has their visit to look forward to next week

Year 5

Last week, Year 5 were working as designers in their design and technology lessons. Taking inspiration from William Kamkwamba and Theo Jansen, they practised skills to create something mechanical using junk. The objects they designed could not be battery powered – they had to be wind or water powered. Some of the products designed were windmills. Next half term, the children will be using these skills to design and make their own toys!

Reception Parent Meeting-Friday 27th January 2023

Year 2 Parent Meeting

Thank you to all those lovely parents/carers who attended our workshop this morning with the lovely Year 2 teachers. It is wonderful how supportive our parents are with their child’s home learning.

Stone Age Role Play!

In English, 3 Wilkinson acted out conversations as characters from their class book, Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura.

Some of the role play made the children giggle, as the two characters were from different time periods and were very confused about each other!

The class then used the role play to help them write some amazing speech conversations.

Library Fun

4M Love to Read! 📘📖📗📚📕

This week 4M visited Longsight Library. The children enjoyed choosing from the many interesting books available there. They spent some time reading in the library before bringing the books back to school. Remember, you can visit Longsight Library any time with your children, it is a wonderful resource for our children and families in the local community.
