Jubilee Fun in Reception!

Reception dressed up in red, white and blue to celebrate the Queen’s jubilee, and the children worked together to create a collaborative piece of art work to celebrate the queen. They made their own jams sandwiches ready for our royal tea, wearing the wonderful crowns they created! They ended the day by playing some garden games and everyone had lots of fun!

Celtic Art in Year 3

This week 3 Modahl have been taking inspiration from Celtic art to create these stunning nature inspired collages. Circles and spirals were very popular in Celtic art and could also be found on many Iron Age artefacts, which the children have been learning about in their History work.

Jubilee Fun in Reception

This week in reception we have been learning all about the Queen and her upcoming Jubilee. We have been busy making decorations and crowns. We have even set up a photo booth so we can have photos with her!

Year 4

This week 4W have produced a stunning class piece of art using hessian fabric to bind different colours of thread as a traditional method of weaving materials together. They took inspiration from Judith Scott, a celebrated and successful artist from America. 4W’s artwork is now proudly displayed in our playground! We hope it brightens up everyones day!

Year 6 Trip

Every Year 6 class visited the Liverpool World Museum last week to revisit learning from earlier in the year about ancient civilizations and religion and culture around the world.

Here are a few photos from 6 Wilkinson’s visit. They were able to look at lots of Egyptian artifacts (including mummies, canopic jars and statues) and recap all their knowledge from their Autumn Term’s lessons.

Then they had a look at the world culture section so that they could see important religious and cultural items from around the world. They mainly focused on Asia and then started looking for any Islamic items as this is their new History unit for this term. They found a Quran writing tablet from Nigeria and a necklace that contained surah from Benin.

Finally, they went down to the aquarium for a treat and they saw an octopus, sharks and even some axolotls!

End of SATs Fun!

After working really hard all week in their end of key stage 2 national tests, all the children in Year 6 had a well-earned visit to Crowcroft Park on Friday where they enjoyed playing and relaxing with their friends.

Year 3 Potato Fun

This week in 3Khan we imagined that we were Stone Age farmers, sowing our crops. We have been planting herbs, such as parsley and chives – and vegetables like climbing beans, dwarf beans, runner beans, peas and potatoes. We made sure we watered them well, and we will watch to see what happens next. We are hoping for a good harvest in the summer.  As an extra surprise, we found some potatoes in the ground!

Stanley Takeaway

1 Wilkinson enjoyed a brilliant class reward to celebrate all their hard work. We promoted healthy eating whilst also celebrating Eid! It was lots of fun!
