Exam and Assessment Results

On this page, you will find results of statutory testing for the past 4 years, to show both pre and post pandemic achievement.

EYFS

At the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the Reception year, children are assessed using a ‘best fit’ approach against statements that cover 17 areas of learning.

These are sorted under the headings of the prime areas:

  • communication and language
  • physical development
  • personal, social and emotional development and  specific areas, through which the three prime areas are strengthened and applied.

The specific areas are:

  • literacy
  • mathematics
  • understanding the world
  • expressive arts and design.

Children are either said to be Emerging (not achieved) Expected (achieved).

Key Stage 1 and 2

In KS1 and KS2 pupils are expected to be able to achieve a full set of key statements that make up the  ‘Working at Age Related Expectations’ (ARE). Some pupils do not achieve all of these statements and are therefore ‘Working Towards ARE’. If a child is unable to achieve many of the statements from their year groups ARE, they are said to be ‘Working Below ARE’. Other children achieve a set of more challenging statements that make up ‘Working at Greater Depth’ (GD).
