Art and Design-Year 5
This half term Y5 are designing inspiration boards themed around βworkβ.
On Wednesday afternoon they developed their colour mixing skills and worked with acrylic paints to improve their work.
On Thursday they painted in monochrome. First, they had to mix different shades of grey before then practising shading on their own βTrabajadorβ.
I canβt wait to see your final pieces of artwork. Well done Y5!

3 Wilkinson Longsight Library Fun!
ππππππππππππππ
This week 3 Wilkinson walked to Longsight Library and had a look at all the wonderful books.
They noticed that the inside of the library had changed. The childrenβs book area had moved to another part of the library.
The children each chose a book to read and then got to take it back to school.
During guided reading children will be given the opportunity to read their library books. All Longsight Library books stay in school.
You can borrow library books to take home by registering at the library. Why not pop along this weekend?

Science Fun in Year 4

4W have loved learning all about the digestive system in their Science lessons.
They drew round their bodies and tried to work out where the organs of the digestive system went. They then did an experiment to replicate the digestive system by putting crackers and bananas into a food bag (stomach), adding water (saliva) and orange juice (stomach acid). They squeezed the contents of the ‘stomach’ into the small intestines (tights) and then the large intestines (cup) before finally becoming faeces.
The children had lots of fun and worked brilliantly on the practical activities.
