Design and Technology

Subject Lead – Nahla Zeiton

At Stanley Grove, Design and Technology is taught through our bespoke curriculum, which was designed by our resident artist. The threshold concepts are explored within each unit, whereas other specific, discrete skills are taught progressively in a carefully planned way. This allows children to build on a skill as they progress from Early Years to Key Stage 1 and 2. Links are made both to prior learning within the subject, but also between subjects, with children in Year 3 making a Saxon stew and bread and children in Year 5, a political protest banner.
